Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti finally got a win over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea after losing 4-0 at Stamford Bridge last season.

A penalty conceded by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and converted by Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson separated the two teams.

The Italian revealed after the game he was ‘really satisfied’ with the 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

Ancelotti said, “Really satisfied. For the first time we had the supporters in the stadium and we were pleased for this. The performance, spirit was really good. We defended really well and then we used our ability on the counter-attack and in the end we deserved the win.

“We look for the clean sheets, we had only a clean sheet in the first game against Tottenham. It is quite strange, Tottenham have fantastic strikers, Chelsea too. That means concentration is important when you want to reach a clean sheet.”
