Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta hasn’t played as much as he’d have liked this season due to the emergence of Reece James.
However, despite his limited playing time, Azpilicueta has remained professional and is indeed ever committed to the Chelsea cause.
Azpilicueta didn’t feature in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Leeds United, but he still took out time to appreciate the team for a massive win.
Azpilicueta appreciated the team’s win and also celebrated the return of fans to the stadium.
He wrote on his Twitter page: “Double win tonight! 3 important points + fans back! We have missed you a lot! We back on Tuesday #ktbffh”
Despite being behind youngster Reece James, Azpilicueta has been supportive of the young right-back and admitted that he’s still working hard to be at his best.
“We have some who maybe aren’t getting the minutes that they had in previous seasons, myself included,” Azpilicueta recently said.
“But I think our effort day-to-day has been fantastic from everyone.
“As a squad, we’re all working very hard. We’ve seen that reflected in Olivier Giroud scoring four goals in a Champions League game. That doesn’t happen every day – but it doesn’t happen by itself either. A lot of work that went into that.”
