Chelsea played a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on Monday, despite the Blues having gone ahead courtesy of an Olivier Giroud header in the first half.

Anwar El Ghazi cancelled out Olivier Giroud’s opener for Chelsea, shortly after the restart of the second half, but it was a game that Chelsea could easily have won, with many chances created.

Meanwhile, Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell missed a chance late in the game as his volley went past the bar in the dying minutes of the game.

Chilwell’s biggest regret was missing the volley late in the game, but he admitted that he couldn’t have hit the shot better.

“It was the last minute of the game, Callum put a lovely ball in so I thought I might as well just hit it and I could not have hit it any better,” he said.

“At the moment we are not quite getting the rub of the green, maybe on another day that goes in, but we will keep working hard and try to put things right.”
