Chelsea fans have been crying out for a big game player that will score the crucial goals in big matches, both in the Premier League and in Europe.
Olivier Giroud has proven time and again that he’s a big game player and can come up with the goods on big occasions.
Interestingly, following his five star performance against Sevilla, Giroud now has a record that places him only behind Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.
Since signing for Chelsea, Giroud has now scored a remarkable 17 goals in UEFA competitions, since he joined from Arsenal in January 2018.
Only Bayern Munich ace Lewandowski (26) and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi (18) have found the back of the net more times in Europe than Giroud in the last three seasons.
Remarkably, Giroud has now scored more Champions League goals than Ronaldo Nazario, David Villa and even French legend Zinedine Zidane.
Chelsea definitely have a big game player, even though he is 34.
