According to former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been dreadfully underrated for years.
The 34 year old France international has struggled for game time this season but has hit top form lately.
Giroud became the oldest player in Champions League history to score a hat-trick as he netted all four of Chelsea’s goals in their 4-0 win over Sevilla last week.
He also scored as Chelsea beat Leeds United 3-1 on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
“As for Giroud, he has been dreadfully under-rated for years,” Crouch told MailSport.
“He is a class act and always has been. You are talking about someone who is second in the all-time goals list for France and when you consider the strikers they have had, what does that say?
“He’s been outstanding for Chelsea and always chips in with crucial goals. His touch is outstanding and his awareness is brilliant.
“Of course we get excited about players such as Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, but Giroud has a huge part to play for Chelsea. He’s a man in form.”
