Chelsea star Kai Havertz has been warned he could become the new Mesut Ozil after struggling to impress for the Blues since his move from Bayer Leverkusen.
The £72million attacker has scored one goal in 10 Premier League matches and according to talkSPORT Adrian Durham, it won’t be long before the 21-year-old is compared to fellow German Ozil if he doesn’t discover his form soon.
Ozil has received constant criticism during his time at Arsenal and has been frozen out at the Gunners this season.
“I look at Kai Havertz, and I think sooner rather than later – unless something special happens from him – he is going to get an unwanted tag of being the new Mesut Ozil,” Durham said.
““It will be because he’s German, obviously, but also because of how he plays and where he plays, and if he isn’t impacting games more than he is now, he’s going to have a real problem shaking that tag.”
