Football pundits could be as unstable as a paper kite blown by a wind, as we’ve seen pundits change predictions as teams change positions on the log.
Not too long ago, pundits were impressed with Tottenham and Chelsea who were 2nd and 3rd on the table, and the two teams were tipped to battle Liverpool for the title.
Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has again backed Liverpool to retain the Premier League title this season, but doesn’t think Chelsea and Spurs will finish in the top three.
Speaking about the title race recently on sky sports, Neville said, “I said Liverpool were going to win the league at the start of the season, and there’s nothing I see [to change that].
“That moment around Aston Villa [7-2 defeat] and Virgil van Dijk getting injured I thought, ‘this could be interesting’, but they’ve settled down. They’ll have bumps this year just because of the league and the way it is but I think they’ll definitely get there.”
He added, “I think Manchester City and Manchester United will definitely finish in the top three and I think it’ll be Chelsea or Tottenham [for top four], and it’s a flip of the coin to be honest with you.”
United are currently third on the Premier League table, but we have a game in hand, and play Leicester City this weekend.
