The Chelsea team will have some reasons to cheer, for the women’s team at least, as the results from the men’s corner haven’t been impressive in recent weeks.
Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes and Blues striker Sam Kerr have been nominated for December’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager and Player of the Month awards, after some very impressive performances during the month.
Emma Hayes have been doing a good job over the past seasons, and had a December to remember as she guided Chelsea to four consecutive victories, and two wins coming in the WSL against West Ham and Brighton.
Meanwhile, in-form striker Sam Kerr, was in good form in the month of December, with the Australian netting a hat-trick in our 3-2 win over West Ham. Kerr also the matchwinner in our 1-0 away victory at Brighton, bringing her league tally this season to seven.
Chelsea are third in the league, behind Manchester United and Arsenal, by 6 points and 2 points respectively, but the Blues have two games in hand.
The managerial nominees are: Casey Stoney (Manchester United), Rehanne Skinner (Tottenham Hotspur), and Gareth Taylor (Manchester City).
The other player nominees are: Jess Fishlock (Reading), Caitlin Foord (Arsenal), Leah Galton (Manchester United), and Caroline Weir (Manchester City).
