According to former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Chelsea forward Timo Werner is struggling to score goals because he isn’t a natural goalscorer.
Werner has failed to find the back of the net in his last eight games and more worryingly, spurned a multitude of major chances in the process.
Bent insists Werner needs to ‘calm down’ when faced with a goalscoring opportunity.
“He’s not a natural goalscorer and you can see that by his finishing,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“But because of his movement and his pace he’ll always get opportunities especially the way they play Chelsea.
“He just needs to calm down in front of goal he looks like he’s snatching. He’s so worried about the finish sometimes, he’s losing track of the ball with say his touch for instance.
“With Werner, we’ve seen he can [do it] if you look his goal in the League Cup against Spurs, that was a lovely finish. Came to him, touch out of his feet was nice and the finish was lovely.
“A lot of it is confidence as well. When you’re scoring goals everything you hit goes in and you feel like every game you play you’re going to score.
“Whereas right now, Werner’s probably thinking, ‘Where’s the next goal coming from?’
“He’s panicking a little bit.”
