Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was heavily criticised for switching Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic to the right wing in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday night.

Pulisic had started the game on the left wing and impressed before he was asked to switch wings with Timo Werner.

Pulisic didn’t have the same effect on the right wing as he did on the left but Lampard insists he made the right decision.

Lampard said: “Sometimes you feel you can give the opposition a problem. When Christian moved to the right against Wolves, he dribbled into their box and went on a mazy run, created a few things. I like to have the option to change them at times.”
