Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he always knew Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers had a great future during their time at Chelsea.

Rodgers was an academy coach when Mourinho was Chelsea manager in the mid-2000s and the pair have maintained a good relationship.

“I’m not impressed, I know how good he is,” Mourinho said.

“When I met him as a young coach in the academy, and coming to join us in the first team and sharing with us many moments, I understood that he was a young guy with a great future.

“So anything he’s doing in his career is not a surprise for me, not at all. He’s very talented, he was and probably still is a guy who likes to study, learn and improve. He’s creative, he knows what he wants.

“He’s a very good coach. Period. He’s a very good coach so it’s not a surprise for me.”

Should Rodgers be given the Chelsea job in future?

To coach lampard I no you are a very good guy, but don’t be surprised that if you don’t do the right thing now you will soon be out of that place which I don’t want, the 4 back line is ok,in the middle let see Kante, kovacic, mount,Hakeem,in front Giroud and warner.i even prefer tammy start than coming from bench because he didn’t have anything to offer in second half I like the guy but our team must win most now.
