Nigerian international goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has rated Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana as the best goalkeeper in Africa.

Okoye’s comment may not ring a bell until you take to fact that Chelsea number one Edouard Mendy is also an African.

Mendy hails from Senegal, while Onana is from Cameroon.

Okoye has been in impressive form for Sparta Rotterdam, and he had revealed that Brazil and AC Milan legend Dida was his idol.

“Nelson Dida was my idol, for me, he was the greatest, I love his style but nowadays it is Marc-Andre ter Stegen,” Okoye told Voetbal Rotterdam.

Okoye went on to rate Onana as the best for him in Africa, with Mendy as second.

He went on: “Andre Onana is also a great goalkeeper, I love to watch him. Definitely, he’s the best African goalkeeper at the moment. The second one is Mendy from Chelsea.”
