Chelsea defeated West Ham 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night and it was a very important win for Chelsea, as the Blues rose up to fifth in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundits Paul Merson has backed Chelsea to get a win against Arsenal this weekend, but he also admitted that he was less than impressed with Chelsea’s performance against the Hammers, as it looked like Chelsea didn’t have a plan for the game.

“Chelsea won 3-0 against West Ham but if they’d got beaten you wouldn’t have been shocked,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“It just didn’t seem like they had a plan. It looked like 11 very good players had been told to go out and play. It just doesn’t feel like the balance is right there yet.

“You can’t see anything other than a Chelsea win [against Arsenal], and Chelsea aren’t playing great.”
