Chelsea vs Aston Villa was a game Chelsea should have won, and the game provided Chelsea the opportunity to climb higher up the table.

Unfortunately, Chelsea could only get a point from the game after Anwar El Ghazi cancelled out Olivier Giroud’s opener with an early second half equaliser.

In the build up to Villa’s equalising goal, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen was unable to stay on his feet, thus leading to the goal.

Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta believes that the outcome would have been different if Christensen was in the box at the time of the incident.

“We know how tough the Premier League is and how important every detail is,” Azpilicueta said. on.

“When you lose a centre-back on the ground, you are one body less in the box. It was a good cross and they finished at the back post.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has blamed Christensen for staying on the ground for long after the incident with Jack Grealish.

He told Premier League Productions: “I’m very disappointed with Christensen because we see Grealish get up here and it’s not a knock that’s going to make him have to leave the game.

“I don’t want to see my centre-half lying on the floor like that when you know nothing is wrong with you.

“You can see all the problems it’s caused.”

He added: “They deservedly score the goal but my problem is… if Grealish can get up and play on, he [Christensen] should play on as well.”
