One thing is certain in Frank Lampard’s era, the Chelsea boss has a handle on affairs in the dressing room.
Having been a part of the Chelsea team that had an unsettled dressing room during his playing days, Lampard has first-hand experience when a manager has lost his dressing room, and the resulting effect.
Lampard has made some huge decisions since becoming Chelsea manager, like dropping certain big names like Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Olivier Giroud and even record signing goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, but yet the dressing room hasn’t become out of control.
With the team now firing on all cylinder, former England international and Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott, has revealed that the Chelsea players have huge respect for Frank Lampard because he’s the idol for most of them.
Lescott said: “What obviously Chelsea recognize that people outside may not is that most of those players will love Frank Lampard because he was their idol.
“So they will have a different level of respect for him. We’ve seen it with Mason Mount, the fact that he’s willing to do stuff that doesn’t come natural in terms of work rate.
“It’s because of Frank Lampard and the impact he has on that generation of players.”
