Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has proven to be a shining light that could help get the club get out of this sticky patch we currently find themselves in.
While his teammates has struggled recently, the 20 year old winger has impressed in Chelsea’s last two games.
The 20-year-old has been named on the bench more often than not this season, with the big-money arrivals of Timo Werner (£53m), Kai Havertz (£90m) and Hakim Ziyech (£38m) putting him further down on the pecking order under Frank Lampard but our academy graduate deserves to be playing more for the Blues.
Lampard has preferred playing Timo Werner on the wing and benching Hudson-Odoi this season but this shouldn’t be happening.
Werner isn’t a winger and Hudson-Odoi plays the role better than Werner.
According to statistics, Hudson-Odoi has created 1.7 chances per 90 minutes for the Blues this season compared to 0.8 chances created every 90 minutes by Werner.
Hudson-Odoi should be playing on the wings and not Werner while Werner should be playing as a centre-forward and not as a winger.
