According to German football expert Christian Falk, Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz is a talented footballer but lacks a winning mentality.
Falk has urged Chelsea to be patient with the German international as he learns to have a winning mentality at Chelsea.
Christian Falk of BILD, who has watched Havertz for years, told Daily Star: “Havertz is a very talented player but it is a big step for him. He had no pressure at Leverkusen to win titles. This club is not made for that, so the pressure is not the same.
“Remember when Chelsea signed Michael Ballack? He was also at Leverkusen, but he made the step to Bayern Munich first and there everyone learns this winning mentality.
“Then he could take the next step to the Premier League. It’s not easy to succeed in England. Everyone knows the league there is a little bit harder, a little bit faster.
“Havertz is a young player. He doesn’t have a winning mentality yet. He has to learn that. But I think the step to Chelsea is still the right one.
“Right now, the other teams who wanted him, Real Madrid and Bayern, are too big for him. But Chelsea is developing. Chelsea is the perfect team for him.”
