We are approaching midway through the Premier League season, but from the onset, there has been questions on who will win the Premier League in what is expected to be a tough season.
Liverpool are currently top of the table, while Chelsea have since dropped to 8th place and 9 points behind the leaders. A win against West Ham on Monday night is very important and will take Chelsea closer to the top.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has refused to be drawn into permutations on who will win the league this season and has always cooled down talks whenever his side is mentioned.
Lampard has maintained that there is still a long way to go to know the final Premier League standing.
The Blues boss said: “We’re still pretty early and there are lots of hours to fill where people want to talk about who might be in the race or not but there’s a long way to go,’ he added. ‘The table at the top is closer, for whatever the reasons might be.
“The level of the Premier League is always improving, clubs that maybe couldn’t invest so much in the past are investing. They have strong squads, good managers and great organisation so that’s what we’re seeing. I think it will pan out differently so I’m not sure it’s worthwhile trying to guess too much.”
