Chelsea have been in good form since a somewhat slow start to the season that saw defeat to Liverpool and awkward draws against West Brom and Southampton.
Chelsea are now looking like a side ready to fight for the title, and the Blues went top of the league at the end of Saturday, after beating Leeds United 3-1.
United legend Patrice Evra has been surprised by Chelsea’s form and that the Blues could even go top of the league.
He also admitted that Chelsea are now settled and moving in the right direction.
“They’re moving in the right direction, definitely,” Evra told Sky Sports.
“Like I say, the fans have to understand that you need time to settle, and I am really surprised to already see Chelsea at that level and top of the league.
“I know we approaching Christmas, but it is still early – they have only played 11 games.
“But like you say, they have so many new players, so many players from different countries and they have to settle.
“They are moving in the right direction and he [Lampard] is doing a great job.
“I’ll be honest, at the beginning of the season, I, as always when you bring in a lot of new players, was worried.
“But to be top of the league after 11 games… Frank is doing a great job right now.”
Chelsea are back to being third in the league, after Tottenham and Liverpool won their games on Sunday.
