Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud reached a Chelsea milestone when he came off the bench against Krasnodar on Tuesday night.
Giroud came off the bench against Krasnodar to make his 100th Chelsea appearance. In that time, the striker has notched 35 goals and 14 assists. Not a bad stat for a player that has mostly being a sub.
Meanwhile, France boss Didier Deschamps has asked Chelsea boss Frank Lampard not to play Olivier Giroud every three days because it isn’t ideal for the 34 year old striker.
Speaking of the striker’s increased minutes under Frank Lampard, Deschamps said: “I’m happy for him and I’m hoping it can last.
“If Lampard decides to have him play three days a week, that’s not ideal either.
“The happy medium is good, that he takes advantage of this ideal period for him. He is one of the very best attackers at international level.”
