Timo Werner has been one of the most regular starters for the Blues this season so far despite his struggles in front of goal in recent weeks.

According to former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard hasn’t dropped Werner from the starting XI despite his struggles because he hasn’t got options in attack due to injuries to our wingers in recent weeks.

Hakim Ziyech is currently out injured, Callum Hudson-Odoi only just returned from injury while Christian Pulisic has had his issues with injuries this season.

“If he’s contributing by doing a lot of work in the game, helping the team be successful, getting in the right areas, helping with assists, then I can understand why he stuck with him,” former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer told Stadium Astro about Timo Werner’s situation.

“Don’t forget as well that Frank has had to balance some injuries – whether it is Pulisic, Ziyech in and out of the side. If we had a fully fit Pulisic and Ziyech, it may be a different situation for Timo Werner. He may find himself on the outside.

“I think it is only a matter of time. Add Hudson-Odoi to that mix, he has struggled with injuries. Timo Werner is the only one out of those four that has been fit all the time.”

Werner has failed to hit the back of the net in 9 games now.

Lampard should go back to the championship where he came from. He is not ripe for premiership not to talk of chelsea. A coach that wins a match and lost three is not a good coach and cannot win anything. Despite spending over 200 million pounds.Alegri come to chelsea.
