It has been a difficult past month for Chelsea, as the Blues had gone from title rivals to top four hopefuls.
It’s amazing to note that struggling Arsenal are now just three points behind Chelsea, showing how the Blues form has dropped dramatically.
The pressure is now mounting on Blues boss Frank Lampard, and the stats are also not in his favour.
See some heartbreaking stats below
Chelsea’s form against the big sides have been devastating, as the Blues have gotten just three points out of a possible 18 against sides currently in the top seven of the Premier League.
Sadly, Chelsea have suffered as many defeats in their last six Premier League games (W1 D1 L4) as they did in the 23 matches beforehand (W14 D5 L4).
Frank Lampard’s side even fared better at this stage last season, as Chelsea (26) have three points fewer after 17 games than they did last season (29).
Another stat to dread is that in the Premier League era, Chelsea have never finished higher than sixth place when amassing a maximum of 26 points at this stage of the season.
Chelsea conceded three goals in the first half against West Brom & Man City, and it’s just the third time they have done so more than once in the same campaign (also 1996-97 & 2011-12).
Hopefully, things turn around for the club in the coming games.
