Mason Mount scored Chelsea’s only goal in the 1-0 win over Fulham, but the impact of the 22-year-old was way beyond his goal.
Mount was named the man of the match, and it’s not hard to see why.
The 22-year-old is now one of just three players who have registered at least 40 key passes, 80 progressive passes and 80 passes into the final third in the Premier League season. The other two players to have achieved this feat are Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Man United’s Bruno Fernandes.
Despite the criticisms often targeted at Mount, the young midfielder keeps growing and building his game.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard paid tribute to Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount following his impressive performance in the heart of midfield against Fulham.
“Mason I thought was outstanding in the game so he deserves the accolades of how he played,” said Lampard.
“He needs to score more goals, Mason. He knows that. But his quality is brilliant and his attitude is brilliant, so he deserves it.”
