They usually say that experience is the best teacher, and that could be the case of Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who’s one of the most experienced players in the Chelsea team.

Having joined the club in 2012 and garnered 400 appearances, only the second from overseas to do so, after Petr Cech. Azpilicueta is not far off breaking into our all-time top 10 appearance makers.

From winning trophies to experiencing bad results and bad form comes with a lot of experience, and Azpilicueta who also played with Frank Lampard, has revealed that experience has thought him not to remain claim, despite a drop in form.

Explaining his calm, Azpi told the official Chelsea website: “As a footballer, the chance to play at the top level, with top players and top managers, gives you experience in the way you live football: when you go into training or step out at Stamford Bridge, with the titles we have won, and also when you have bad moments.

“Experience gives you that bit of calm. I try to stay positive, and I know by working hard you can go further.”
