Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has been at the club since 2012, right from the era of Roberto Di Matteo, to Rafa Benitez, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel.
Azpilicueta has seen so many managerial changes, in his nearly decade-long stay at Chelsea, and it’s not new to him.
The Chelsea captain has now urged his teammates to throw their weight of support behind the new boss and has insisted that he’s ready to fight for the team.
“We have to try to be there and we know we have to keep improving,” said the Chelsea captain.
“At the moment, we are not in the position that we should be. If we are where we are now, it’s because we didn’t deserve more until this moment, so we have to work hard, we have to work together.
“We have a couple of days to prepare for the game against Burnley on Sunday and everybody is ready to fight and to give their best because we are excited to work with him and we have to give everything.
“When a new manager arrives, we all have to be open, we all start from zero. We have to give everything and now we have an exciting four months ahead where we have a lot to play for and hopefully we can achieve what we want.”
