Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that N’Golo Kante won’t be available for the trip to his former club, Leicester City due to injury.
Kante missed Chelsea’s victory over Fulham on Saturday due to suspension but has also been nursing a hamstring problem, which is why he missed the FA Cup victory over Morecambe.
Lampard said: “(Andreas) Christensen is available [after his knee injury] but N’Golo isn’t. It’s a bit too soon for his hamstring.”
Meanwhile, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers doesn’t think it will be an issue for Frank Lampard’s side, as he believes that Chelsea have adequate replacement for the former Leicester City star.
Asked whether Kante’s injury would be a boost for his team during his press conference on Monday, Rodgers responded: “They have got a real squad of top players.”
“Of course with Kante, we know he’s a top-class player.
“Unfortunate, but Frank [Lampard] will always have someone else to come in and do a good job.”
