Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink spent only four years at Chelsea, but it was enough for him to win the hearts of the Chelsea faithful due to his impact at the club.
However, the former Chelsea star was quickly axed when Jose Mourinho was appointed manager in 2004, and he ended up leaving the club for Middlesbrough.
Hasselbaink has revealed his experience with Mourinho at Chelsea and relates it to what the current Tottenham boss is doing with Dele Alli.
“He wanted to show that he could let big players go. I was still top scorer, even though two really good strikers had signed that season,” the recently appointed Burton manager told talkSPORT.
“Mourinho wanted to show who was boss, and I was the one he used.
“Yes, Chelsea then won the league, but I could have added to the team that year.
“But Mourinho has always done that. He’s doing it now with Dele Alli at Spurs.
“That’s how he manages, that’s how he gets success, you can’t fault him.”
