Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo, who is currently on loan at Belgian club Cercle Brugge, has committed his international future to Nigeria.
Ugbo is of Nigerian descent but was born and raised in London.
Ugbo has represented England at under-17 and under-20 level. In June 2017, Ugbo also scored once in three appearances as England’s under-20 side won the Toulon Tournament.
“The paperwork is not quite in order yet, but my agent is working on it,” Ugbo told Belgium media outlet HLN.
“Playing a World Cup is every footballer’s dream, isn’t it?”
The former Roda player has scored 10 goals in 16 league appearances for Cercle Brugge this season.
