Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri is currently second choice at the club, and is behind summer signing Ben Chilwell.

The Italy international has struggled for game time and has made just 9 appearances across all competitions.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this January, with the likes of Napoli believed to be interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, Italy boss Roberto Mancini has urged Emerson to leave Chelsea and sign for ‘an ambitious Serie A club’.

“It would be ideal for him to join an ambitious Serie A club, it would be the best thing,” the ex-Man City boss told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Emerson has done decently in the few games he has played, but Chelsea may not be willing to let him go this January as he’s the preferred backup for Chilwell.
