Following the departure of Brazilian forward Lucas Piazon, Victor Moses is now Chelsea’s longest serving player.

Piazon, who was the previous longest-serving player, had been at the club since 2012 before eventually sealing a move to Braga.

Piazon only managed to play once for Chelsea, but it didn’t work out well for the Brazilian who joined the club as a highly rated teenager.

Victor Moses who joined Chelsea in 2012 now stands as the club’s longest serving player. However, the former Nigeria international is currently among Chelsea’s loan army that includes 29 players, including the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Michy Batshuayi and Ross Barkley.

Compared to Piazon, Moses has had a successful stint in the Chelsea first team. He did well under Rafa Benitez, as Chelsea went on to win the Europa League in 2013.

He’d eventually go on successive loan spells before Antonio Conte’s era where he was developed into a formidable wing-back, playing an important role in Chelsea’s Premier League triumph in 2016-17 season.

Moses who played alongside Frank Lampard is under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2022. He joined the club around the same time as Cesar Azpilicueta who’s now Chelsea’s second longest serving player. Marco van Ginkel is also among the list of longest serving players at the club.

He wasn’t needed under Maurizio Sarri after Conte’s two years at the club, and has since been out on loan.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
