Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was far from his cheerful self as he faced reporters for his press conference ahead of the FA Cup fourth round tie against Luton Town.
The Athletic’s Liam Twomey got the brunt of Lampard’s fury as the Chelsea boss told him that he has been reading his biased articles.
Lampard was asked by Liam Twomey if having the knowledge and experience of his former teammate Petr Cech, who’s currently serving as the club’s technical director, is a welcome comfort. Lampard however dodged the question and fired shots at Twomey and the media in general for their bias.
Lampard said: “Well to be fair Liam, I think there confidence would be shot if they were to read some of the pieces you write at the moment because I read some of them and the confirmation bias that you always reflect on games with.
“It’s like a social media pundit to try and get a reaction in a negative way. I read the pieces when it was going well and they didn’t go both ways, so I think for a journalist to be objective would be a start because if players do read it I’d feel like that.”
