Antonio Conte teamed up with Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard to win Chelsea’s last Premier League title in 2017.
Eden Hazard was the star man of the team, with Fabregas pulling the strings in midfield, while Conte did the magic with his 3-4-3 formation and his usually animated self on the sidelines.
Fabregas has revealed how Conte got Hazard to choose between scoring more goals for his side or be involved in defending like the rest of his teammates.
Speaking with L’Equipe, Fabregas said: “One day, Conte said to us – I think it was (Eden) Hazard: ‘OK, you don’t want to defend. So score me two or three goals in every game.
“If you get them, you can do whatever you want. Otherwise, you’ll defend like everyone else…'”
The trio have since separated and have left the club, with Conte in Italy, Fabregas in France and Hazard in Spain, for Inter Milan, Monaco and Real Madrid respectively.
