Timo Werner ended his barren run of 12 games without a goal as he found the net in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Morecambe on Sunday afternoon at the Bridge.
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf was still critical of the German’s display and claimed that he still wasn’t impressed with his performance.
Werner got Chelsea’s second goal, but had the fewest touches among Chelsea starters (26 touches in 68 minutes).
According to Leboeuf, Olivier Giroud still remains Chelsea’s best striker and sees him as a saviour for the team, and prefers Werner to play from the left.
“Right now, I see Giroud as a saviour for Chelsea,” Leboeuf told ESPN.
Giroud has scored seven goals in his last five starts in all competitions for Chelsea.
