Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is under huge pressure after the 2-0 defeat to Leicester on Tuesday night.
After spending big during the summer, Lampard’s objective for the season was to ensure a top four finish this season but that is now in danger following the defeat to Leicester.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly began discussions with potential replacement for Lampard as he is prepared to sack the Chelsea favourite if results don’t improve.
Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has emerged as the clear favourite to replace Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager.
Most bookmakers now have Lampard odds-on to be the next Premier League boss to be sacked ahead of bottom club Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder, or Newcastle United’s struggling boss Steve Bruce.
Also in the running for the Chelsea job are Max Allegri, Thomas Tuchel and RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann.
One will wonder why the Blues will sack Lampard to replace him with Shevchenko, who has no experience in club football. Makes no sense to me at all.
