Mason Mount was seen as a special player under Frank Lampard, as the academy product made the most appearance for Chelsea in Frank Lampard’s 18-month spell.

Lampard was criticised by some for favouring Mount despite his good displays for the club.

The 22-year-old was benched by new boss Thomas Tuchel against Wolves, but the new boss has admitted that Mount is a special player who gives his 100 percent for the club.

Tuchel said: “There is nothing to worry about. I like what I see from Mason so far: a nice guy, competitive, a lot of talent and he leaves his heart on the pitch. He cares for Chelsea 100 per cent.

“I am happy to have him around. I will not stop pushing him. I will not stop guiding him. I will not stop trusting him. I have to prove they can trust me.”
