Following Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi deserved to start.

The 20 year old had scored in Chelsea’s last two games and was expected to start against Fulham.

“Callum could have deserved to start today, to be fair,” Lampard told Sky Sports after the Fulham win.

Lampard also admitted it was a difficult decision benching Hudson-Odoi for the game against Fulham.

“It was difficult [benching Hudson-Odoi] because there has been a real uplift in his form.

“That’s a sign of his development, he is coming on, going by people, and showing confidence. And a lot of that will be down to the injury he had to get over last season.”
