Chelsea defeated Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening, but it wasn’t an easy win for the Blues, with Mason Mount scoring a late goal to seal the victory.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner could have added to the scores late in the game following a blistering counter attack. However, he managed to scuff the chance despite being placed one on one with the goalkeeper.

It was a shocking miss by Werner, and Arsenal legend Ian Wright analysed that the 24-year-old did everything right until his final shot.

“I was willing him to score this because he looks like one of those strikers that once he gets going, he really does,” he said.

“He does literally everything right here but when he gets to the end, it’s almost behind him a little bit.

“It’s almost like in golf, he’s blocked it. The ball needs to be a little more in front of him so he can get that whip on it and unfortunately, up until that point, he had done everything right.

“It’s just unfortunate that he got too much on it and it went wide but hopefully he’ll keep going and he’ll get his goals.”
