Following Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Morecambe on Sunday in the FA Cup, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard hailed Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech for his excellent passing ability.
Ziyech provided the assist for Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal and also played a part in Timo Werner’s goal as it was his pass that found Kai Havertz who headed down for Werner to score.
Lampard said: “It’s a talent and typically it seems like lefties have that little bit more guile with it.
“I don’t know whether that’s right but we’ve always seen that over the years.
“He sees the pass and has the confidence to take on the pass. He might mishit, overhit or underhit some, but he’s looking for that vital pass and not always from wide, from central areas as well. I’m very happy for him to get in there.
“It’s been such an unfortunate start for Hakim. To get injured in pre-season, to then come back and be playing so well and then get injured again.
“Even now, I think he’s still feeling his way slightly with it. We had a good week of work with him and for the squad, training-wise, and again today, going into Fulham.”
