It was a breath of fresh air for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, as the Blues team returned to winning ways after a poor run of one win in six games.
Chelsea defeated Morecambe 4-0 in the FA Cup third round tie, and Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour produce a masterpiece in the middle of the park.
The 19-year-old dominated the midfield and ensured that play went through him all through the game. Even though Morecambe may be classed as an inferior opposition, Gilmour’s positioning and awareness were just too good on the day.
See some key stats from the young midfielder’s display:
92% pass accuracy

1 key pass
3/5 duels won
Gilmour had produced even more wonderful performances in the past, with man of the match displays against Liverpool and Everton.
Injury had slowed down his progress, but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has now admitted that the young midfielder has shown that he deserves to play more.
“I think Billy is pushing [for a regular run in the first-team] and has been since he made his breakthrough last season against top-level opposition,” Lampard said after the 4-0 victory over Morecambe.
