Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed his club’s interest in signing a key Chelsea transfer target.
Rummenigge revealed on Thursday that the German champions will compete with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
Upamecano signed a new contract at Leizpig only last year, but has a £37m release clause that is due to become active in the summer which Rummenigge also confirmed.
“We will of course deal with it, not only with this player, but in principle with all the positions where we want and need to do something,” Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
On a potential agreement, he added: “It’s too early for something like that, he’s still a Leipzig player at least until the end of the season.
“But it’s common knowledge that he has a clause in his contract.”
