Kai Havertz has yet to reach desired heights for Chelsea, since sealing a £70m move from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 21-year-old who was already a star in the Bundesliga has struggled to adapt to the Premier League style, and has scored only a goal in the league this season, and three in Carabao Cup from 24 appearances in all competitions.
He was given a cameo appearance against Manchester City and he did well to assist Callum Hudson-Odoi for Chelsea’s only goal in the game.
Meanwhile, his former manager Peter Bosz questioned Frank Lampard’s vision for the German star.
“As for Kai, I can see why Chelsea brought him in but I cannot yet see the exact idea Frank Lampard has for him,” Bosz told the Athletic on Friday.
“It’s really good that he protects him in the press, though. But in the end, you must deliver, you must score goals and make goals. For a €100 million transfer you must play, and he isn’t.”
Havertz seems to be unfazed by his critics and have posted a picture on social media, showing him prepare for the game against Morecambe on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways in this game, and Havertz will be hoping to use this game as a springboard to hit back top form.
