Chelsea will play host to League Two side Morecambe in the FA Cup third round on Sunday afternoon.

The game represents a good chance for Chelsea to turn things around, after losing for of their last six matches.

Morecambe may be in England’s fourth tier side, but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard isn’t taking the game lightly, after recent struggles.

“No matter form, team, status, the FA Cup has a magic that’s been there forever which means underdogs will turn up and make it difficult,” said Lampard ahead of the game.

“With our current form, we have to be even more on guard.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend Pat Nevin has hailed the performance of the Morecambe team under their manager Derek Adams, revealing that Adams is very tactical.

Nevin said: “Morecambe in the FA Cup may give us a bit of breathing space and certainly a chance to try out a few ideas, but even then we can’t be too careful. Their manager Derek Adams is good tactically.

“I have followed his career with great interest and with a bit of luck and the right timing he could have been managing at a higher level by now.”
