Chelsea beat Morecambe 4-0 in the FA Cup third round on Sunday with goals from Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed after the game that the big victory over Morecambe was important as it gives the team confidence.

Chelsea players have been low on confidence after just one victory in our last seven before our the game against Morecambe.

Lampard told reporters: “It will give us a bit of confidence, but I don’t want to overstate that because of the nature of the game.

“We’ve had a period where we haven’t had a good run, and we need to get better results. And the only way out for us is to work hard, and the lads worked hard this week in training.”
