Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave his verdict on Billy Gilmour’s performance in the 4-0 FA Cup victory over Morecambe on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard told reporters after the game: “Billy is pushing and he has been since he made his breakthrough last season. I always knew he would be a very good player for this club even at his young age.
“He came in today, his attitude was good and he moved the ball well, which he also did when he came on against Man City last week.
“When you talk about the Academy players and the youth of this squad, you have to say they’re performing very well for us but we can’t ask for them to absolutely consistent all the time and produce the numbers that other players in the league do.
“That will come for our lads but at the moment their own contributions are good.”
