Chelsea play host to Manchester City on January 3, and there are good and bad news in the injury front for the Blues.
Chelsea will be without Reece James for the visit of Manchester City due to a hamstring injury. For Hakim Ziyech who has been out for over two weeks, Lampard has said that the Moroccan international will be back for the game against City.
Ziyech has since resumed training and is fit to play against City. However, Lampard remained coy as to his availability, claiming that he is unsure whether Ziyech will start against City or come in as a substitute.
“Reece James is out, he’s got a small hamstring problem,” reported Lampard ahead of the Manchester City clash.
On Ziyech, the Blues boss added: “He’s fit to train and has trained the last two or three days so I’ll have to make the decision on whether he’s ready to start.”
