Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has joined Italian club AC Milan on loan until the end after fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Many Chelsea fans were disappointed to see the England defender leaves as they believe he’s better than Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has sent a message to Chelsea fans disappointed with the decision to send Tomori out on loan.
Asked to explain to angry Chelsea supporters why Tomori has left temporarily, Lampard said: “Because I have five centre-backs and I can’t do this job and expect to please every fan; that’s football.
“What players you should pick or not, whether you are searching for consistency or going on an unbeaten run there are questions.
“I have to pick two at a time and the numbers don’t always add up.
“Fikayo is a developing player, a very good player. He is going to be a top player.”
AC Milan reportedly have the option to sign Tomori on a permanent deal for £25 million.
After completing his loan move to AC Milan, Tomori tweeted: “Honoured to have this opportunity to fight for this great club.
“I can’t wait to show myself on the pitch.”
