Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists he needs time to work with his Chelsea team despite spending over £200million on new signings to improve the squad.
Lampard believes a lack of preseason have affected his work with the players but believes Chelsea playing lesser games in recent weeks has given him time to work with the players.
Lampard told reporters: “I know the rules of football. No matter what squad you have, you need time to work.
“One of the big pluses of last season was that we had that opportunity. We had a long pre-season and opportunities to work.
“These two weeks have given us a chance to focus on the basics of our game, how we want to play.”
