Timo Werner has struggled for consistency since joining Chelsea from RB Leipzig last summer.
Before his goal against Morecambe in the FA Cup, the German international failed to score in 12 consecutive games for the Blues.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard started the German on the bench against Fulham and he missed a glorious chance when he was brought on.
A stat has emerged which suggests Werner has always had a pattern of scoring goals in concentrated set of games instead of spreading them across several games.
Werner might have scored 34 goals in 45 appearances for RB Leipzig last campaign, the striker has a habit of blowing hot and cold as suggested by a tweet from Grant James.
Last season for RB Leipzig, Werner failed to score in 26 of his 44 matches.
James tweeted: “Werner has failed to score in 44 of his 69 matches since the beginning of last season. If you exclude penalties, it’s 49 blanks in his last 69 matches.
“I’d love some comparative data on this vs “similar” forwards eg. Salah. As many braces and hattricks and pens?”
