Morecambe boss Derek Adams revealed before the game against Chelsea that his side will go all out and attack Frank Lampard’s side, saying that his side will give their best no matter what.

Indeed, the League Two side started the game with resilience and Chelsea couldn’t break them down until the 18th minute, through a long distant shot from Mason Mount.

After the goal, Chelsea then found space to play, and Adams believes that the goal changed everything for his side.

Derek Adams said: “But we started well and kept our shape and kept our discipline and they hadn’t really troubled us too much before they scored and there was nothing in the game until then because they weren’t creating too much and we were pretty happy.

“We knew they would have a lot of possession but they didn’t really play through us and the lads did really well.

“We then looked like we would keep it to 1-0 into half time but they scored just before the break and added another at the start of the second half and it was pretty much game over then.

“We did all we could then to try and cause them a few problems and we kept going right to the end to tay and get something.

“We showed a lot of resilience and a good understanding pf the game and I was pleased for the players.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
