It was yet another disappointing result for the Blues as Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, with the golf in class showing between the two sides.

See the player ratings below

Mendy: Conceded three goals and was beaten at his near post for both first half goals. Made a good save in the second half to deny Dias’ header from further embarrassing Chelsea. 4/10

Azpilicueta: His 400th Chelsea appearance didn’t go as planned. Didn’t have an easy game against the likes of De Bruyne and Co. 4/10

Zouma: Didn’t look his best tonight. Wasn’t composed, as City kept threatening Chelsea in the first half. Seemed better in the second half but by then, the deed has been done. 4/10

Silva: City’s attack exposed his partnership with Zouma. They got better in the second half but the first half defending was shambolic. 5/10

Chilwell: Looked really sharp in the first ten minutes of the game, but City’s attack kept him at bay from then till the end of the first half. He didn’t really have a focal point to deliver crosses to all through the game. 5/10

Kante: Was overworked and overran in the middle of the park. Not his best as he gave away a poor pass in the lead up to City’s third goal in 35 minutes. 4/10

Kovacic: Couldn’t play his best against a rampaging City midfield. Not a good performance. 4/10

Mount: Worked hard and did decently, but lacked a killer move in the final third. 5/10

Pulisic: Quick feet and skill made him look dangerous at times, but it never really opened up the City defence. 6/10

Ziyech: Great start to the game but faded out after ten minutes. Didn’t combine well with Azpilicueta. 5/10

Werner: Another poor evening as he was isolated up-front. Lacked service all through the game. 4/10

Subs

Gilmour: Came on for Kante after the hour mark and made the middle look better. 6/10

Hudson-Odoi: Had a spark after coming on for Ziyech. Scored a good goal and always looked threatening. 7/10

Havertz: Couldn’t offer much after coming on for Kovacic in the 77th minute.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
